Position: Family Planning Program Medical Director

Pay: $100 per hour/8 hours per month Requirements:

1.         The Medical Director shall assist in the development and coordination of all clinical policies and procedures and shall act as the preceptor to and professional supervisor to Nurse Practitioners, medical program staff and clinical support staff as required.

 

2.         Shall assist in the coordination and monitoring of all clinical performance improvement activities. Work with the Program Director and Nurse Practitioner as a part of an overall quality assurance program to maintain the highest quality of care.

 

3.         Provide consultation and/or direct patient care on cases where the Nurse Practitioner needs assistance. 

 

4.         Shall participate in the annual review the Medical Policies and Procedures Manual, and                finalize approval.

 

5.         Shall proficiently provide supervision to NP’s which includes chart review, case review,               training and medical support as required.  Maintain collaborative practice agreement with             all staff Nurse Practitioners.

 

6.         Shall provide appropriate direction and oversight to all clinic medical services as required            by the Title X program guidelines.

 

7.         Shall be available by phone for consultation on specific patient medical decision making.

 

8.         Perform additional related duties as required in the clinic.

 

9.         Must be a graduate of an Accredited School of Medicine and have completed training                   internship and residency as required for Missouri Licensure.

 

10.       Must hold a current license by the State of Missouri Medical Board with preference                      given to physicians having suitable work experience dealing with low income patients.

 

11.       Ability to deal comfortably with the public and deal with sensitive issues in a

            respectful and caring manner.

 

12.       Possession of adequate transportation for the performance of duties.

 

13.       Must strictly adhere to confidentiality policy.

 

14.       Must meet credential standards established by the Missouri Family Health Council

 

 

Preferred:

Experience in a Family Planning or ob/gyn setting.  Experience working in Public Health
