POSITION: Family Resource Specialist (Central Outreach Center/Springfield)

Location: Central Outreach Center , Springfield, Missouri
Work Status: Full-Time, 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday–Friday
Pay Rate: $21.27/hour

The Family Resource Specialist works directly with individuals and families across OACAC’s 10-county service area to promote financial stability and improve overall well-being. This position involves assessing needs, developing personalized case plans, connecting clients to critical services, and guiding families toward long-term self-sufficiency. This is a field-based role requiring travel to meet clients in various settings, with administrative work completed in a supportive team environment.

Requirements:

A. High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field preferred
B. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
C. Ability to build rapport with families in crisis and collaborate with diverse partners
D. Experience with office software (Microsoft Office, databases, spreadsheets)
E. Strong organizational and case management skills
F. Knowledge of or willingness to learn about local and regional social service resources
G. Ability to work independently and manage a full caseload
H. Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards in client work
I. Comfort presenting information to groups and leading discussions
J. Reliable transportation, valid Missouri driver’s license, and appropriate insurance
K. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
L. Must be able to travel regularly within the 10-county service area
